What this means in practice
The site does not ask for personal information through an account or checkout. However, online identifiers such as an IP address or a random cookie identifier, together with browser and request data, may still be processed by the services described below. This limited processing is used only to measure readership, maintain performance and protect the site.
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics provides aggregate statistics about page views, sessions, approximate location, and browser or device type. I use these insights to understand engagement with stories and galleries—not for advertising or to identify a particular person.
Analytics cookies are not essential to viewing the site. Under EU rules they require prior consent, and refusing them must not restrict access to the content. The legal basis for this processing is consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare provides delivery, performance and security services for aberle.photo, including protection of the contact form. Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed to work without cookies and, according to Cloudflare, does not collect or use visitors’ personal data.
To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare may still process technical request information such as an IP address, browser headers and security signals. When a security check is needed, strictly necessary cookies such as cf_clearance or __cf_bm may be set. They are used to prove that a check was passed or to detect malicious automated traffic—not for advertising.
